Solid Timber Floors

  • The common measurements of strip flooring are 65mm to 150mm wide and 19mm to 22mm in thickness and there are different types of timber available, as well as a variety of colours and hardness of the timber.
  • There are different quality grades of the timber available for the customer to choose according to their budget
  • Can be installed over surfaces such as concrete, particleboards (chipboard), bearers and joists, cork and plywood
  • There are two laying systems which can be used the first being top nail – where the nails are visible, the second being secret nail – where the nails are invisible.
  • Beading and metal trims supplied and installed
  • Repair work arranged
  • Several finishes available such as water base coating, oil base coating, solvent base coating and different types of gloss levels too.

Overlay Flooring

  • Differs in thickness, ranging from 11mm to 14mm
  • Cost effective
  • Commonly used on concrete surfaces
  • The laying system requires a moisture barrier to be applied first before laying to protect the timber from any moisture damage and is then fully glued and laid
  • Several finishes available such as water base coating, oil base coating, solvent base coating and different types of gloss levels too.

Engineered / Floating Floors

  • Engineered flooring/ Floating floors consist of a three-layer construction where the top layer of the wood is the hardwood surface, the middle layer is made of plantation hardwood and the bottom layer is plywood.
  • The thickness of the timber is 14mm to 18mm
  • It is non-allergenic which is ideal for asthma and allergy sufferers
  • Shrinking, warping and gaps in the wood is minimised with the technology used
  • Engineered flooring is pre coated which is cost effective, however extra coating is available if required
  • Can be laid over concrete or existing floors
  • There is two different laying systems which can be used: glued or click type
  • Installed on underlay base which provides noise insulation and a moisture casing
  • Different types of underlay available
  • Supplied and delivered to your door

Pre-Finished Solid Floors

  • The common measurements of strip flooring are 80mm to 130mm wide and 12mm to 19mm in thickness and there are different types of timber available, as well as a variety of colours and hardness of the timber.
  • Can be installed over any surface such as particleboard, , tiles, cork, lino and plywood, to name a few.
  • Beading and metal trims supplied and installed
  • Several finishes available such as water base coating, oil base coating, solvent base coating and different types of gloss levels too.
  • The timber purchased is already sanded and polished and so only installation of the timber is needed
  • Extra coating/polishing available
  • Installed using secret nails (invisible nails) as well as glue which provide double the protection for hard wearing and longer lasting floors.

Laminate

  • Installed on underlay base which provides noise insulation and a moisture casing
  • Thickness is approximately 5mm to 10mm
  • Sanding, Polishing and extra coating cannot be used on laminate floors
  • Variety of colours and patterns available
  • Not real timber, it is made of layers which are pressed together to form a solid flooring material
  • The benefits of laminate floors are that it is easy to clean and it is wear and stain resistant

Parquetry Floors

  • Parquetry blocks come in various sizes and thicknesses
  • Real timber with a variety of species and quality grades
  • Parquetry is glued down and can be laid in different designs, patterns and directions using inlays and boarders
  • A moisture barrier is applied first before being laid/ full glued down to a flat concrete subfloor
  • Parquetry can be laid on top of cork or plywood surfaces as well
